Valentine card and box !

Now ive been a lucky bunny this week as i have recieved a DT parcel from the U.S ..
full of yummy glass glitter and these new earth flakes !

Heres a Valentines card and box ( should be filled with chocolates , but that big gorrilla came again and ate  them !) hmmm anyway  i made it  for the Allsorts challenge blog - hearts and flowers
and also  One stop challenge blog   - love and kisses .
I used a Sarah Kay stamp and the papers are from Minds Eye  the "Beloved " range.
and the sentiment stamp is from Whimsy stamps.

Ive edged the card with the Earth flakes ...
I cut out a  heart from the Martha Stewart deep edge punch that Calvin bought me from Charmed Cards.
I  used glossy accents to glue the glass glitter and the tiny beads, it turned a plain cardstock heart into something a bit more special .

I used Crackle glaze on the flowers , you can't really see in the picture how lovely they look crackled and glazed.
Now if your wondering were you can get your hands on that fabulous glitter .. heres the link to the Meyer Imports blog and shop ... blog - shop
I have to say , my pictures dont do it justice , it is gorgeous !
and they call it the better glitter - i know why now !

and i did  get very excited about the Earth flakes - so many things you can texture with them, i will be having a good play with them in the next few weeks!

Easel card with box tutorial

Since returning to crafting i suddenly realised that i was so out of date with stamps !
particually magnolias which i love ! Fortunatly some of my crafty friends are not and have a few more up to date ones - so we are having a mini image swap.
I made the easel card above to send my images in - it has a pocket and is perfect for a special crafter that i have been friends with for a long time !
Now i dont know about you ... but i struggle to find and envelope for these easel cards - i rummaged through all my crafty stash and did i have one ???????? hmmmmm ? No i did not ....... so i decided to make one and share it with you.
Id like to enter this card and box for the Spoonful of sugar challenge - lots of layers !
and The Charisma Cardz Challenge - Any thing new - which is my new lace that ive used

I have to say i love the faux leather tabs ... these where made form thick cardstock , embossed with a cuttlebug folder and then i used a nestibility for the tab shape. To get them looking slightly worn i brushed over it lightly with a cream ink .

The flowers were inked on the petal edges and some were coloured using copics.
Image was also coloured with copics.

Box Tutorial to fit bulky 6 x 6 cards .
This is a very easy tutorial ,  and once you get the hang of them you will be churning them out!
Now ive done this in cm - as doing it in inches i find going into 16ths and 8ths just confusing !
So ive made it as simple as possible.
I used linen cardstock from the Paper mill for mine.

Step 1
Cut your cardstock 20 cm x 20 cm - you will need two of these.

Step 2
Using only one of your 20cm x 20cm cardstock

Score your card at 2cm and 18 cm - make sure your right on the measurement line..   Turn your cardstock round and do the same on the otherside , so you now have the same as in the picture.
Step 3

Cut up one side of each corner , then fold all your score lines on your side panels.       Attach doublesided tape to each end square and fold inside the folded end panels. It should now look box  shaped.
The box lid
step 4

Using the 2nd piece of 20cm x 20cm cardstock , score at 1mm under 2cm and 1mm over 18cm .. turn the cardstock and do the same to the other side. This creates an extra 4mm around the score line  to fit over the bottom box.

Cut up  each corner , as before .
Step 5.
Before folding and attaching sides , use a circle punch to punch out half a circle on two opposite sides - this helps to lift the lid off the box
Decorate the front of the box before folding and glueing the sides.

would love to see any creations you make , so please drop me a line and send me the link !

Challenge card and a little nibble !

I made this card for my lovely mum . She loves gardening ,so i thought this pretty little Tillda would be perfect !......and well i just wanted her to know that i was thinking about her.
I used the sketch on the "Just Magnolia "  challenge blog

Images are coloured with copics and the sentiment i did on the computor.

Now its been pretty cold here, and the snow is just getting deeper and deeper !
Sophia my daughter decided to go for a snowball fight !
I thought she will be freezing when she gets back , so i decided to bake alittle treat for her for when she returns.
This is one of the cookies i baked

Now it does'nt look too bad does it?
In fact my kids were so shocked that mum was actually cooking and that the oven was being used for food and not fimo , that they asked if i was feeling alright ..... had i bumped my head perhaps ?
"no " i said - i just thought you might like a baked treat "
shocked - i knew they were shocked because they stared at me and didnt blink for 10 mins and they were'nt argueing  either....
Then ofcourse reality struck when they  bit into the cookie.... what looks like an ok tasty chocolate chip cookie was in actually fact ......

(the underside)
One of mums usual jaw breakers !
Now i remember why i don't bake  !

INCOMPETENT MOTHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (maddy nearly chokes )

Calvin mouse you cheeky thing ... who do think made that and put that in the oven eh ?
....get back to ya kitchen  ... .

A card and gift for a Boy !

This is a lion Jungle card - i love this Whimsy Stamp - perfect for a boys card dont you think?

The paper was so gorgeous that i didnt want to cover it up too much - im afraid i cant tell you what the paper is because silly ding bat me glued the paper before writing it down - sorry !

Edited to say that the lovely Maya left a comment and told me the papers are Sassafras from the Jungle Bungle collection - Thanks Maya xx
The faux stitching i drew scruffy delibratly ... yes i did honest !
I loved colouring the Lion with copics  - what a mane eh ? I used a white Hybrid Gel pen to highlight his mane , i am not sure the camera has picked it up , but it real his mane really jumps to life !

I thought it would be fun to make a box to match and put some Jelly Beans in !

The monkey is also a Whimsy stamp ! by the way .... im afraid a big gorilla came and unfortunatly ate all the jelly beans ... hmmmmm ...!

If your wondering why i have changed by blog i wanted to start doing some tutorials ... so needed bigger pictures ... hope your not missing all the colours x
