Tilda Magnolia fimo gift set - for someone special -

Now if you are a regular on my blog , you will know that from time to time i go abit mad and create a complete fimo /  polymer clay  , card and box set ..... Athough this is not a card its a topper ( at the moment !) but who knows what it may end up as - many people put toppers not just on cards but also on frames and canvas , which i think makes a fabulous keepsake for someone. The fimo dolly can be a keepsake or even a cake topper !

I'd better get to the nitty gritty had'nt i ? lol .... lots to see in this set .

 The Papers are prima marketing and silk screen one ( not sure of the make) , I've taken some of the elements from the paper and cut round it so its 3d on the topper . Edges have been distressed and sewn ..Stickle glitter has been added to the blooms  and Tilda is from the New Magnolia collection.  The topper also comes with a matching box envelope ( see top picture) with a lacy effect trim - a martha stewart boarder punch.

 And here is the fimo Dolly - prehaps she should be called Tilda ? Let's see her close - up shall we ?

Cute as a button is'nt she ? lol ... If you look close you can see the pattern on her hat and waistcoat.

she even has ruffles on her sleeves...

Now dolly tilda  needs a home too , so i made a matching box for her - i used a "perfect presentation" template.

Christmas Tilda and a sneaky fimo peek !

Well today i have a christmas tilda topper and a sneaky fimo preview  im sharing with you..

I'm really getting some use from my cricut at the moment - it never use to like me  but  it seems im on a roll with it !

I've use the cricut storybook cartrige and used it 

for the border at the top which ive inked and also stickled .

 

I've used Prima paper and crushed velvet flock for the faux snow

Pink , Red and girly Tilda !

 

I've done a bit of masking on this pretty topper . The tree stump is a cc design stamp and i 

had these gorgeous flower stamps from Rachel Miller range that i had never used , so masked 

the stump and stamped the flowers around .Tilda is'nt masked - i like my Tildas slightly raised 

i think it gives a bit of dimention to it .

So here is ~Tilda sat on her tree stump in her garden and surrounded by her favourite things,

butterflies and flowers !

I love the mushrooms on the cc design stamp - they are always fun to colour and dot white

spots on !

The edges have been distress and sewn and the checked brad at the top is fabric.

 I've attached some Tulle under the corner that i punched out using a martha stewart punch.

I love the prettyness of the colours and my inspiration for this was the challenge at the Shabby Tea Room in the form of a photo , a pretty delicate pastel floral bracelet.

Tis my Birthday Today !!!

 

I've had a lovely lovely Birthday today - ive had lots of cards , and a big thank you goes to Anne , who made me a fabby tilda card - thank you so much Anne ! (liverpool lou) x 

Ive got a hand made scarf (with funky pockets) that Calvin knitted me ( as well as other pressies),

crafty stuff and a charm from my daughter ...and a friend too me and the girls out to lunch too !!! 

Well i promised to show what i did with the tree from the sugar nellie stamp that i cut off !

heres the topper

Her bunch of flowers look white - i think the colouring is so soft on them the camera has'nt picked it up.

The butterfly is an autum leaves stamp and ive punched out a smaller one , ive chalked ,inked and stickled it ! 

Ive sewn and inked the edges of the topper .

The sentiment - thinking of you is a whimsy stamp .

Watching Butterflies !

 I had a good rake in my stamps and found this gorgeous Elizabeth Bell stamp - im not sure ive ever ink her up before . Now if your a Elizabeth Bell fan you might notice  something is missing !

                 Have you clicked whats missing off the stamp ? well there was a tree with a bird house on this stamp - but i cut it off , i thought it was it would be more useful as two separate stamps - il show you  what i used it for in a later post  ! 
.The heart is alcohol ink and ultra thick embossed -  and sprinkled  embossing powder on it when it was still hot , so it melted the powder.
I've used copics and also chalks for the background.The butterfly is punched .

I have coloured a old Elisabeth Bell stamp thats waiting to be adorned with paper so i definatly know im telling the truth !! heheeeee !

here is my topper - i just loved making this ! 

The fancy border on the top is cut from my cricut (its liking me at the moment !) and so is the fancy backing on Tilda , 

Tilda has luxury german glass glitter on her dress, star and headband . I guess this topper could be used for any occasion - even christmas ! well this tilda is from the new 2010 christmas collection. 

 

The heart i made a while back - i cut it from a sizzix die , alcohol inked it and used  ultra thick embossing powder . To get that look and that thickness you have to use one of the white heat guns ( the one that looks 

more like a hairdyer) otherwise it just blows the ink and powder  all over the place .

Pretty Cherry Tilda !

Id like to share a topper i made today made with pretty cherry tilda from the new release Magnolias,

I had a good rake in my stash and used my American crafts ribbon id been saving ! We all do it dont we , buy stash and not want to use it - but it matched it so perfectly !
I altered the Magnolia egg cart , and added flowers instead of the eggs ! 
I used tiny heart shaped gems for the middle of the wheels .

I can't remember the paper i used - it was a scrap from my stash , but the martha stewart heart is magnolia paper.The tree is a wooden stamp - not sure the make as its rubbed off !

A blue and white Christmas and a how to make a glittery pin embellishment !

It's that time of year when we start on the christmas cards isnt it ? Trying to get them made early enough so there is'nt that mad panic when you realise christmas is just round the corner !
Well this blue and white topper took me all afternoon and half of the night to make !! I wanted to make it delicate and pretty , with lots of layers but without it being too bulky either ............ So i released my beast !!!! Oh yes the cricut got an airing !! --------- and for once it did as it was told !

 I used the storybook cartrige on the cricket and cut three layers out for it. , I know it looks like two on the card - but i cut off the decorative part on the third layer and used that . I Used stickles on the third layer .

A Magnolia Christmas circle stamp ( that i pinched off my friend !!) was used and i attached a pearl brad and snowflake to the centre.

Now as i started to get alittle closer to finishing the topper i realised it did need more bling , so i added some gorgeous gorgeous sparkly ribbon that was bought sparkly and punched to holes at the top and threaded through some lace.

I was really really chuffed with myself  - as i had a little brainstorm and managed to change a heart shape pin into diamond sparkle embellishment - who needs diamonds when theres german glass glitter ?

It's so easy  to do too ! I just popped glue on a pom pom and rolled it into the glass glitter , let it dry and pieced it through on the pin ! How easy is that ?
Since everyone else usually lists what stash they have used i thought id better keep in with the trend so here goes ---

This is Tilda holding a big bunch of letters ! Shes from the 2010 Magnolia Christmas Collection.  Isnt she a sweetie !

 

Ive coloured her with copics and mounted her raised on the topper.

Theres a cute little envelope charm dangling from the tags.

If you look on the bottom left , you will see a fabric flower i made - it was going

to be on a brooch but it matched the topper so well i decided to use it , and well i can always make another one !

On the matt ive used my cropadile to punch holes in and tie ribbon through them and 

bow them - i thought  made it look quite pretty !

I used some gorgeous bobble trim i had left in my stash box .

The topper is stitched , distressed and inked around the edges,

there is lace underneth all those layers !

I use a martha stewart punch for the paper lace effect underneth the matt.

Apple Picking Tilda !

Well i was abit naughty today and used a new stamp calvin bought me - for my birthday on the 26th - WELLLLLL i just could'nt resist !

I actually went apple picking with my Sophia last weekend with a group called Urban Harvest - 

We go in a group to pick apples from peoples gardens or trees that  are in the street ( with permission of course !)

and they are then given to the homeless or familys that would not usually have fruit .

I have to say it was great fun and a worthy cause too !!

When it came to making this topper i enjoyed every single minute of it - it so 

reminded me of Saturday - although Tilda hasnt got a bump on her head like i had from 

falling apples !

fussy and fancy christmas colours ,

I added some string which i plaited to look like rope and attached it to the apple buckets.

I've attach a string of pearls to the heart and embellish the card with

blooms and two little metal leaf charms.

ohhh forgot to mention - i drew some apples on the tree too !

All things Bright and Beautiful !

 

Well ive run out of 6 x 6 cards , and ive pre-cut my A4 so im afraid you will have to put up with toppers for week or so until i get some !

I started off with some paper that i had already backed and  found it hard to match anything to it .... I had already had Tilda coloured but the paper just   seemed  to limey green - THEN i  added a splash of colour with the blooms ... and some more backing and wow did it  pop the topper out !

It does look alot more striking and eye catching in real life .

The blooms are more of a greeny turquoise in colour than blue , not sure if its the camera of the light .

 

I added a little metal butterfly on the "make a wish "

and added some stickles to the blooms , i matched the paper up more by colouring in some of the flowers on it - i must remember that trick   - it really brought it together even more !

                               

Just a few .....

Its been awhile since ive been able to get back on the pc. I had a great time at Calvins and enjoyed a well earned rest ! Then when i came back i had Calvin and the kids for a few weeks.
I could'nt get back on the internet properly , so i had a big clear out on the computor and it seems to be working so much better now ! woooo hooooo ! I have lost all my passwords though !!! thats so annoying when that happens ! lol

Anyway thought id show you some of the toppers ive been doing , ...
this is one of my fav's i have to say... i just love the colours on this , so vibrant !

I treated myself to a Marianne createable and used the die for the scroll. Chinese Tilda is coloured with copics and the  beautiful fabric brad was from my stash. The paper is from K and co .

I loved this one so much i did another in Raspberry Pinks ! 

Another favourite of mine is the " Kissing couple " from Sarah Kay - its always been a joy to colour, and i dont think its cuteness of this stamp will ever fade - its got to be one of the classic stamps you dont ever part with !

I love the brass buckle on this topper , not sure where i got it from im afraid.
